YOUR PRIVACY
Privacy,
by design.
What we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Written to be read, not to hide.
Answered AI ("Answered AI," "we," "us," or "our") operates an AI phone-receptionist service for businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through answeredai.org and our service, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using our website or service, you agree to this policy.
Who this policy covers
We handle information for two kinds of people:
- Business customers — the businesses that hire Answered AI, and the people at those businesses who set up and manage the service.
- Callers & visitors — people who call, text, or are booked through a business that uses Answered AI, and visitors to this website.
For calls and messages handled on behalf of a business customer, that business is the owner of the conversation data and Answered AI acts as its service provider, processing the information under the business's instructions.
What we collect
- Contact & account details — name, business name, phone number, and email you give us, for example through the "Book a demo" form.
- Call content — audio recordings and written transcripts of calls handled by the receptionist, including what the caller says and the information they provide.
- Booking & message data — appointment details, reschedules, and SMS confirmations we send or receive on your behalf.
- Technical data — basic information your browser or phone shares automatically, such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed, used to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To answer calls, book appointments, take messages, and provide the receptionist service;
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, and replies by SMS (see our SMS Terms);
- To set up, support, secure, and improve the service;
- To respond to your questions and demo requests;
- To meet legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use call recordings or transcripts to advertise to you.
Call recording
Calls may be recorded and transcribed so the receptionist can understand requests, create accurate bookings and messages, and improve the service. Recording and consent laws vary by state. Each business that uses Answered AI is responsible for providing any call-recording notice its callers are entitled to; we provide tools and greetings to help.
How we share it
We share personal information only as needed to run the service:
- With the business you contacted — so it can serve you, confirm your booking, or return your call.
- With trusted service providers — such as telephony, hosting, calendar, and messaging partners who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons — when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.
- In a business transfer — if Answered AI is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
SMS consent is never shared. Mobile opt-in information and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs. Call recordings and transcripts are retained per your business customer's settings and then deleted or anonymized. You can ask us to delete data sooner (see below).
How we protect it
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit and access controls — designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to notify you and the relevant business if a breach affecting your information occurs.
Your choices & rights
- Access & correction — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- SMS opt-out — reply STOP to any text to stop messages (details in our SMS Terms).
- Marketing — opt out of any promotional email using the unsubscribe link.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. To exercise any right, email support@answeredai.org. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If your data was collected on behalf of a business you contacted, we may direct your request to that business.
Cookies & analytics
This site uses a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect how the site works.
Children's privacy
Our website and service are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Answered AI is based in the United States and serves U.S. businesses and callers. If you access the service from outside the United States, you understand your information is processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
