These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website and AI phone-receptionist service provided by Answered AI ("Answered AI," "we," "us," or "our"). By using our website or service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Answered AI provides an AI-powered phone receptionist that answers calls, books appointments, answers questions, takes messages, and sends related text messages on behalf of a business. Features, plans, and limits are described on our pricing and features pages and may change over time.

Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act for the business you represent. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your account details up to date, and are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate business information — hours, services, prices, and policies — so the receptionist can represent you correctly.
  • Use the service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Obtain any consents your callers are entitled to, including call-recording notice where required by law in your state.
  • Comply with our SMS Terms and applicable messaging regulations for any texts sent through the service.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give the receptionist and for the notices your callers are legally entitled to receive.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to: send unlawful, harassing, deceptive, or abusive content; violate the rights of others; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service; or resell the service without our written permission. We may suspend accounts that put the service, our partners, or the public at risk.

Billing, plans & cancellation

  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance at the rate shown on our pricing page unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • There are no long-term contracts — you may cancel at any time, effective at the end of your current billing period.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Plan pricing and included limits may change with notice.
  • If included usage limits are exceeded, we may contact you about an upgrade; we will not add overage charges without letting you know.

Call recording & consent

The service may record and transcribe calls to operate and improve the receptionist. Recording and two-party consent laws vary by state, and you are responsible for ensuring the appropriate notice or consent is given to your callers. We provide greeting and configuration options to help you comply.

Third-party integrations

The service can connect to third-party tools such as calendars, booking systems, and messaging providers. Your use of those tools is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

Intellectual property

Answered AI and its licensors own all rights in the service, software, website, and brand. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is active. You retain ownership of your business content and the data generated on your behalf; you grant us the rights needed to operate the service for you.

Service availability

We work hard to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may perform maintenance, update features, or modify the service, and we are not liable for outages caused by carriers, third-party providers, or events beyond our reasonable control.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Answered AI is an automated assistant and may occasionally make mistakes; it does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Answered AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Answered AI from claims, losses, and expenses arising out of your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, including any failure to provide required call-recording or messaging notices.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the service in a way that creates risk. On termination, your right to use the service ends; sections that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
